A perfect day for a hike on the Summit Trail
Circle telling me I'm too slow
Circle on the summit
Circle reluctantly posing on the Summit; he is all business on a hike.
Just the beginning of autumn colors
Circle enjoying the field
I could never tire of this beauty
Stop taking my picture and let's go!
Circle making sure I'm still coming
My view of Circle for most of the hike
The beginning of autumn colors in the White Mountains
Circle is a great hiking companion, he doesn't care where we go and long as we GO!
Just before we started downhill and the trail deteriorated
Circle leading the way
I couldn't imagine a better place to be; well except Denali Park!
The final stage of fireweed
A sign shortly before this said the trail was going to be repaired in July. I thought it was July 2015, but maybe not. It had been very rainy, and the mud was trying to suck off my shoes.
Circle blends in well with the autumn colors
Couldn't stop taking photos
Snow capped mountains
What can I say?
This part of the trail is very well marked. It may to not be too critical in the summer, but it is definitely critical in the winter when everything is white.
More random beauty
I would love to see the colors now, a week later.
Circle and trail marker
Circle making sure we are on the trail, although he preferred romping off-trail.
Circle taking in the endless beauty of the Whites...and fantasizing about being off-leash!
Just another photo
Heading back to the trailhead
Can you tell that I was enamored with the beauty and solitude?
